This Christmas I received a gift I wasnt sure about.
If you knew me you would know how much of a reader I am, I have 2 bookshelves full and piles of books lying everywhere.
Lets go back a couple of years really quick.
I used to work in a music store namely Circles Tapes and discs. While working at the store we used to sell alot of vinyl to dj's.
After some time though vinyl was becoming more and more scarce.
Dj's were turning to Serato, saying bye-bye to vinyl. Thus leaving only those who loved doing it oldschool with less and less vinyl to work with.
So now back to me and my slight dilemma.
I got this bad ass Kindle that I have heard about but not really look into.
I love the smell of books, I like looking at all of the typed product on paper.
As soon as I got my Kindle I asked myself "Am I selling out?"
I am become a person who is going into the future and leaving behind that things that I love so much.
Will I forever ban books? Hell no! I figured that if I download a book and love it so much I will rebuy the actual book.
Accidents happen, technology does sometimes fail, and when it does I will have my lovely books to fall back on.
So, no I don't think that I am a sell-out. I am just weeding out the books that will clog up my space that I didnt like or want. I will only keep those that have touched, inspired and moved me. I love you also Kindle. (Please don't ever break on me)
If you haven't seen one of these, they are pretty awesome. Go out and get one!
If it does ever break on you *even if it's your fault, they will ship you out another at no cost to you. My friend Yuna is always breaking hers. She's a freaking clutz. She always gets it free with free overnight shipping :)
